A 6-day long Amar Ekushe Book Fair has started in Feni. Deputy Commissioner Mushammat Shahina Akhtar inaugurated the fair on Thursday (February 22).
Earlier, writers, readers and cultural organizers formed a human chain to demand the organization of Amar Ekushey Book Fair in Feni. In view of that demand, this fair was organized at the central Shaheed Minar on the initiative of the city mayor Nazrul Islam Swapan Miyaji.
According to the organizers, the fair which started on Thursday will continue till Tuesday (February 27). The fair will be open for readers from 3 pm to 8 pm every day. Apart from this, interesting cultural programs will be held every day with the participation of various cultural organizations of Feni. 15 stalls of various organizations and publications participated in the fair.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Feni Municipality Mayor Nazrul Islam Swapan Miyaji and moderated by the member secretary of the fair organizing committee, Advocate Rashed Mazhar. Convener journalist Abu Taher, Feni bureau chief of Time TV, Bakhteyar Islam Munna, Daily Fenir editor Shahadat Hossain, Daily Fenir editor Ariful Amin Rizvi were present. , Zamir Uddin Beg, Editor of Dainik Amar Feni and others.
Also present were the leaders of the combined cultural alliance of Feni, cultural activists, writers, readers and journalists.
In the speech of the special guest, Superintendent of Police Zakir Hasan said to ensure that the purpose of the fair is implemented. The practice of reading books should be increased. Youth society will avoid social crimes if they rush towards reading books.
During the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Muchammat Shahina Akhtar said, “We also demand the fair of twenty-one lives.” The demand for the fair has been strengthened by the rumors that have been made in Feni around February 11.
