6 Brigadier Generals assigned to Brimob, Numbers 3 and 5, once led the Madago Raya operation in Poso

JAKARTA – A total of six senior officers (Pati) Police with the rank of Brigadier General (Brigjen) assigned to the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) . They were placed in a number of important positions in the Bimob Corps organizational structure.

As is known, the Brimob Corps has the main task of handling domestic terrorism, handling riots, high-risk law enforcement, search and rescue (SAR), hostage rescue, and bomb disposal (EOD).

The Brimob Corps is also a large component within the National Police which is trained to carry out anti-separatist and anti-insurgency tasks, often in conjunction with military operations. Brimob is also classified as a Police Tactical Unit and operationally is a police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, including Densus and Gegana.

The following are 6 Brigadier Generals serving in Brimob:

1. Police Brigadier General Rudy Harianto – Karorenminops Korbrimob Polri

Rudy Harianto is currently the Head of the Planning, Administration and Operations Bureau (Karorenminops) of Korbrimob Polri. This man, born in Malang, East Java, graduated from the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1990.

Before being appointed as Karorenminops Korbrimob, he served as Kabagren Korbrimob Polri in 2017. In his career in the police, Rudy Harianto was often assigned to the Brimob Corps.

Starting from the Head of Intel for the West Java Police Mobile Brigade (IIIB 1) (1999), Danyon B for the Riau Police Mobile Brigade (2002), Riau Police Mobile Brigade Deputy Head (IIIA 1) (2003), West Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Head (IIB 2) (2008), Padang Panjang Police Chief West Sumatra (III A2) (2010).

Furthermore, the Deputy Head of the South Sulawesi Police’s Mobile Brigade Unit (IIIA 1) (2011), the Maluku Police’s Head of Mobile Brigade Unit (IIB 3) (2011), the Head of the Bali Police Mobile Brigade Unit (IIB 2) (2013), and the Intermediate Policy Analyst of the National Police’s Brimob Police (2016).

2. Brigadier General Waris Agono – Danpas Pioneer of Korbrimob Polri

Waris Agono is a one-star general from the National Police who serves as Commander of the Pioneer Force (Danpas Pelopor) Korbrimob Polri. He has served since March 27 2023 replacing Komjen Pol Imam Widodo.

This position was obtained when he replaced Imam Widodo who was appointed Wadankorbrimob. Before becoming Danpaspelor Korbrimob, Waris Agono served as Deputy Chief of Regional Police for Southeast Sulawesi since 2020.

Turning to his history, Waris Agono graduated from the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1990. Looking back, a number of other strategic positions have also been held by this man born in Boyolali.

3. Brigadier General Reza Arief Dewanto – Danpas Gegana Korbrimob Polri

Brigadier General Reza Arief Dewanto is a 1995 graduate of the Police Academy (Akpol). Since 2020, he has served as Commander of the Gegana Troop (Danpasgegana) of Korbrimob Polri.
