Specialists of the Institute of Public Policy of the AMANAT Party conducted a poll among Kazakhstanis and found out that the majority believe that the holiday unites the people, Liter.kz reports.
According to the survey results, 57.1% of people believe that Nauryz is a national holiday that consolidates the people of Kazakhstan.
First of all, this opinion is shared by respondents from Kostanay (83.3%), Akmola (80.4%) and Pavlodar (75%) regions; aged 30-45 years (61%) and older (59%) age group; representatives of the spheres of culture, art and sports (70.8%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (68.9%), as well as trade (65.4%).
Every fifth respondent (20%) believes that Nauryz is a holiday for the majority of Turkic peoples, and every 7th (14.4%) sees it as a family holiday.
To a lesser extent, respondents regard Nauryz as an opportunity to congratulate friends (4.4%) or simply as an additional day off (2.1%).
Despite the ancient history, the holiday began to be officially celebrated in Kazakhstan in 1988. Starting this year, Kazakhstanis celebrate Nauryz in a new format.
Now from March 14 to 23 we celebrate the ten-day period of “Nauryznam” and each day has its own special meaning.
It is worth noting that Nauryz symbolizes not only the revival of nature, but also the consolidation of society. This is evidenced by a sociological study conducted by the Institute of Public Policy.
Today, March 22, the country celebrates the beginning of the year – Zhyl Basy, and tomorrow will be the Day of Purification/Tazaru Kuni.
Every day, starting from mid-spring, Kazakhstanis will celebrate:

Day of Mercy/Charity Day (15.03),
Day of Culture and National Traditions/Day of Culture and National Traditions (16.03),
