500 people who wanted to go to Hajj were deceived – 2024-04-27 22:56:29

The Caucasian Muslim Administration (CMA) has reduced the quota for Azerbaijani pilgrims who want to go on Hajj this year.

Publika.az reports that Vusal Jahangiri, head of the Foreign Relations Department of the CMB and head of the Hajj Electronic System, informed about this.

According to V. Jahangiri, it was observed that the citizens who want to go to Hajj were deceived by businessmen:

“Last year, after the Hajj season, at the end of July, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia created conditions for many countries, including citizens of Azerbaijan, to receive electronic visas. However, only people with Hajj visa can enter those areas. Businessmen used these decisions to deceive citizens.

According to the information we have, last year there were many victims of such businessmen and they collected money from them, but they could not take it away. This year, approximately 500 citizens were victims of businessmen.”

V. Jahangiri emphasized that, therefore, the Caucasian Muslims Administration has reduced the quota for the Hajj pilgrimage and set it at the limit of 1,500 pilgrims:

“The Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus urges people who want to go on pilgrimage not to be deceived by businessmen.”

Also, the CMB official said that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has set a time to complete all the procedures for the entire Hajj:

“According to the time set by the Ministry, all procedures, including the issuance of visas, should be completed by the end of April. Therefore, citizens should hurry and not be deceived by false promises. Let us inform you that the quota is almost filled.
