The films of the country are now very much based on the Eid season. Movies are not released throughout the year as before. The few that come to theaters are a handful. It can be said that the cinema of the country has become Eid-centric in the past few years. There is a flurry of movie releases during Eid. During the last Eid-ul-Fitr, 11 movies were released in the theaters of the country.
5 movies have been released on this year’s Eid-ul-Azha in a series of several years of movie releases centered on Eid. These movies are ‘Tufan’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Dark World’, ‘Agantuk’ and ‘Mayurakshi’.

It has been reported that the movie ‘Toofan’ starring Shakib Khan is being released in 123 theaters in Dhaka. On the other hand the movie ‘Mayurakshi’ is releasing in 2 theatres. Besides, out of the three movies, ‘Revenge’ is releasing in 15 theaters, ‘Dark World’ in 13 theaters and ‘Agantuk’ in 5 theaters respectively.
The movie ‘Toofan’ is in the limelight for good reason. Because Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan acted in it. It has been in the news since the beginning of the shoot.
Chanchal Chowdhury, Masuma Rahman Nabila and Kolkata’s Mimi Chakraborty also acted in the movie ‘Toofan’ directed by Raihan Rafi, a popular director of the time. On the other hand, Fazlur Rahman Babu and Gazi Rakayet will also be seen in this movie.
Actress Yamin Haque Bobby and Sudeep Biswas Deep have teamed up in Rashid Palash’s ‘Mayurakshi’. Its screenplay is written by journalist Golam Rabbani.
Sadia Mahi, Sumit Sengupta, Farzana Pictures, Samu Chowdhury, Deepak Suman, Pranab Ghosh, Sabina Punthi, Farooq, Muheen Khan, Manik Shah, Zulfikar Chanchal, Rudra Haque, Mitul, Kasturi Chowdhury acted in the movie ‘Mayurakshi’.
The movie ‘Revenge’ directed by MD Iqbal has released in 15 theatres. It stars Ziaur Roshan and Shabnam Bubli in the lead roles. In this movie produced by Sunan Multimedia, besides Bubli and Ziaul Roshan, Deepa Khandkar, Misha Saudagar and Shimanda are acting.
The movie ‘Agantuk’ is not much talked about. Because it has finally joined the liberation march. It was produced by Suman Dhar. ‘Agantuk’ movie was announced to release on June 11 Eid. It stars Pooja Cherry and Shyamal Mawla in lead roles. Abhi Kathachitra is performing ‘Agantuk’ produced by Kamal Haasan. Milli Bashar, Masum Bashar, Hindol Roy, Shikha Khan Mou, Anoa Shahi, Shahed Ali Sujan also acted in this movie.
The movie named ‘Dark World’ has also entered the release list recently. It is being built by Mostafizur Rahman Manik. The movie was released in 13 theaters. Munna Khan, Kolkata’s Kaushani Mukherjee, Deepa Khandkar, Misha Saudagar, Barada Mithu, Shimul Khan, Maruf Aqib, Don etc. acted in this movie of crime thriller genre.
