5 meter python swallows whole Indonesian woman in foreign media spotlight

JAKARTA – A number of foreign media are busy reporting about a woman who was found dead in her stomach they are pythons in Kalempang, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The victim’s entire body was swallowed by the 16 foot or around 5 meter long snake.

The victim is known as Farida (45), a mother of four children.

“16-Foot Python Swallows Woman Whole In Indonesia,” read the headline of a report by a French media agency, AFPwhich was reported by many global media, Sunday (9/6/2024).

German Media, news, write the title “Indonesian woman found dead inside giant python” in the report.

Meanwhile, the United States media CBSreported the incident with the headline: “Missing mother found dead inside 16-foot-long python after it swallowed her whole in Indonesia”.

The husband found the victim on Friday inside a python measuring about five meters.

The local village head, Suardi Rosi, told AFP that the victim went missing on Thursday night and did not return home, so search efforts were carried out.

“Her husband found her belongings, which made her suspicious. Residents then searched the area. “They immediately saw a python with a big belly,” said Suardi.

“They agreed to open the python’s stomach. As soon as they did, Farida’s head came into view.”
