42-Meter Boat Made in Bodrum Launched

The million-dollar boat named “Princess Melda”, produced in Bodrum, 42 meters long and 8.5 meters wide, was launched with a ceremony.

The design of the 3-deck yacht named “Princess Melda” in a shipyard in Bodrum was made by the Dutch firm Guido de Groot. The construction of the commercial Turkish flagged yacht, designed to be able to cross the ocean, took approximately 3 years. During this time, it provided employment for approximately 100 people. The boat, which was handcrafted and whose interior design was designed in a refreshing and light tone of oak, has a 3-meter platform at the back for guests to enjoy sunbathing and swimming. On the starboard side, there is a hydraulic system that can be used as a balcony when opened. The top floor, called the flybridge, has a sunbathing area, a large jacuzzi and a bar.

There are 6 cabins on the boat, 2 of which are main cabins, 2 are VIP double cabins and 2 are twin cabins. The 84 square meter main cabin on the upper deck has a balcony with a seating area, sunbathing area and jacuzzi. The yacht, which has a customer accommodation capacity of 12 and a staff of 9, uses a highly technological system similar to smart home systems. This system also provides guests with ease of use of equipment such as air conditioning, curtains and lighting via touch control panels. The boat, which will be used in charter tourism, aims to host guests coming from abroad in the best way on the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts and contribute to the country’s tourism.

The boat was launched today after a prayer was read in front of the shipyard where it was built. Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, Coast Guard Commander Major Raşit Gödelek and Bodrum Regional Harbour Master Tuncay Aydın as well as sector representatives attended the ceremony. Neta Marin partner Emre Karakaya answered questions from members of the press and said, “We aim to use the boat in charter tourism. We want to contribute to Turkish tourism. As you know, Bodrum is mostly famous for its wooden gulets. We also want to make Bodrum’s name known more by producing a motor yacht of this size. I hope that we can attract more foreign customers here. The boat is also named after my little girl. Her name is Melda, she is 4 years old. We added the Princess.”
