Police are looking for two men accused of helping a YouTuber install at least 40 hidden cameras at polling stations in South Korea. According to the authorities, these two people are friends of the YouTuber. The social media influencer installed these cameras to establish his claim about election fraud. On Monday (April 1), a police officer of the country revealed these facts. The British media reported the news.

The YouTuber, who is in his forties, was arrested last week.

Voting for the next parliamentary elections in South Korea will begin on Friday and Saturday.

According to police in the western city of Incheon, illegal cameras have been found in at least 40 locations across the country. These places include polling stations and counting centers.

The Singapore-based daily newspaper Strait Times reported that these cameras have been placed behind telecommunication equipment.

The head of the country’s National Office of Investigation said on Monday that operations are underway to arrest the two men. One is in his 50s and the other is in his 70s.

Charges against them include illegal entry and breach of security laws.

Arrested YouTuber believes in extremist ideology. In the past, he has expressed concerns about fraud in the upcoming elections on his YouTube channel.

Responding to media queries after his arrest, he said he wanted to verify the number of advance votes. He expressed doubts about the gap between the results of the early polls and the main polls.

During the by-elections last year, he installed cameras in advance polling stations in the capital Seoul.
