In terms of body shape, the Bengal Tiger is the second largest cat species in the world after the Siberian Tiger. The Bengal tiger rivals the Siberian tiger with thick fur and is larger in size and lives in cold climates.
Another characteristic that differentiates it from other tigers is that it has bright orange fur with black or dark brown striped motifs. A rare white-furred variant of this subspecies, aka the white tiger, also exists.
Apart from that, the Bengal tiger also has the largest canine teeth among all the cat families. The length of the fangs can reach 10 centimeters. Bengal tigers also have strong claws so they have the ability to climb trees to chase their prey.
The largest male Bengal tiger can grow to about 3.2 meters and weigh almost 295 kg. Females are smaller, the largest measuring about 2.7 meters and weighing up to 181 kg. They prey on deer, antelope, gaur and wild boar.

1. Likes Swimming
The first unique fact about the Bengal Tiger is its love of playing in water. Bengal tigers are excellent swimmers, which gives them the advantage of hunting prey in the water. They will also soak in water when the weather is hot.
2. Solitary Animals and Nocturnal Predators
The Bengal tiger is a nocturnal predator that likes to hunt prey at night. This is because the Bengal Tiger’s vision at night is six times sharper than that of humans.
Bengal tigers are also animals that like to be alone. They usually patrol their territory themselves. However, especially for mother tigers, they spend a lot of time with their cubs.
3. Has a Creepy Roar
Bengal tigers rarely roar. But once it roared, the sound was very loud and very scary. The sound of a tiger’s roar can be heard up to three kilometers away.
4. Endangered
Just like other types of tigers, the Bengal tiger is also endangered. Many factors put the Bengal tiger at risk of extinction, including poaching, habitat destruction, conflict with humans and climate change.
