The man who took “Viagra” was caught.
Publika.az reports that a 32-year-old Iranian man became blind in one eye after taking Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs. This case was described in the “Journal of Medical Case Reports”.
According to the information given by the doctors of Farabi Eye Hospital in Tehran, the man applied to them with a complaint of sudden blindness in his right eye. During the examination, it was found that the patient had taken 100 milligrams of sildenafil three hours before the loss of vision, which was twice the allowed dose.
During the additional examination, it was found that the central vein and artery supplying blood to the man’s eye were blocked, which led to retinal detachment – blindness.
Experts added that this is the first case confirming the possibility of damage to the blood vessels of the eyes as a result of taking anti-impotence drugs. At the same time, doctors admitted that they do not understand the mechanism of this effect.
Doctors could not restore the man’s sight because the eye damage was so serious.
