30,000 Paletuviers planted in Maintenance

The locality of Ampasimandoro in Maintirano, in the Melaky region, sheltered last Saturday, July 26, a series of activities entering the celebration of International Mangroves Day. This is how no less than 30,000 propagules of paletviers were planted. An action to restore mangroves in this western part of the country. As a reminder, the Melaky region has more than 59,000 hectares of mangroves, if the big island has nearly 400,000 hectares (390,853ha). In Madagascar, mangroves occupy an important place as a component of coastal wetlands. As a reminder, Madagascar is home to 20% of mangroves on the African continent and 2% of mangroves expanses worldwide.
