3 Youngest Lieutenant Generals Serving in the TNI, Number 1 Dropped Out of Military Academy 1993 Former Danjen Kopassus

JAKARTA – A number of high-ranking officers (Pati) TNI AD recorded as being at a young age to hold the rank Lieutenant General (Lieutenant General) . They occupy important positions at TNI Headquarters and TNI AD Headquarters.

The three figures graduated from the Military Academy (Akmil) in 1992 and 1993. Two of them are 55 years old this year, while the other is only 53 years old.

In total there are 20 TNI AD Pati who currently hold the rank of Lieutenant General TNI. A total of six names served in Ministries/Agencies, 4 Lieutenant Generals served at TNI Headquarters, and 10 names served at TNI AD Headquarters.

1. Lt. Gen. TNI Widi Prasetijono

Widi Prasetijono is the youngest TNI Lieutenant General currently in the TNI AD. This man, born in Trenggalek, East Java, June 4 1971, was only 53 years old some time ago.

He has been actively serving as Commander of the Indonesian National Army’s Doctrine, Education and Training Command (Dankodiklatad) since December 24 2023. Widi even held the rank of Lieutenant General when he was 52 years old.

This 1993 Military Academy (Akmil) graduate from the Kopassus Infantry unit is a three-star general who has had a brilliant career in the military. He held many strategic positions during his career in the Red Beret Corps and in TNI institutions.

Widi Prasetijono started his military career from Kopassus. Starting from Pama Pussenif then, Danunit Group 2, Danunit Yon 22 Group 2 Kopassus Dansubteam Yon 22 Group 2 Kopassus, Dantim Yon 22 Group 2 Kopassus, Kasilog Group 1 Kopassus Wadanyon 11 Group 1 Kopassus.

Apart from that, Widi also served as Commander of Kodim (Dandim) 0735/Surakarta 2011-2012. At that time, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was still Mayor of Solo. Then, Widi was also appointed as Pabandya-1/Pampa Spaban II/Pampers Spamad.

Furthermore, at the beginning of the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla (JK) administration, Widi was appointed as President Jokowi’s aide. His career in the military world became increasingly brilliant, Widi was then appointed Commander of Rindam (Danrindam) III/Siliwangi in 2016-2017, then appointed Commander of Korem (Danrem) 074/Warastratama in 2017-2018.

Subsequently, Widi was appointed Commander of Korem (Danrem) 091/Aji Surya Natakesuma 2018-2020, Kasdam IV/Diponegoro 2020-2022, until finally he was appointed Danjen Kopassus in January 2022.

After only four months as Danjen Kopassus, Widi then received a promotion to Commander of Regional Military Command (Pangdam) IV/Diponegoro on April 8 2022. He held this territorial position for more than a year and a half.
