Dandut singer Saipul Jamil has been released by police after being arrested along with his assistant, Steven Arthur Ristiady. Saipul was sent home after police examined him and performed laboratory tests on his urine and hair.
Saipul Jamil was released today. Police concluded that laboratory test results on Saipul Jamil’s hair were negative for drugs.
“Certainly with this mechanism. But if we look at the existing evidence, it will definitely be returned because it has not been proven. One way is to do a laboratory test on the hair to prove it,” Tambora Police Chief Commissioner Donny said. Agung Harvida when asked for confirmation, Monday (8/1/2024).

Police have officially released dangdut singer Saipul Jamil because it was not proven that he had consumed drugs after he was arrested with his assistant, Steven Arthur Ristiady. Saipul Jamil gave advice to his assistant.
“No, we did not meet (with the assistant). So the question was raised whether he was suitable or not. So he was deliberately not allowed to meet us. What is clear, I pray that he gets treatment,” Saipul Jamil told the Tambora police, Monday (8/1/2024).
Saipul Jamil still does not think that his assistant is involved in crimes related to drug trafficking. He hopes his assistant can be rehabilitated.
“My hope is that my assistant is a user, my hope is that he can change and be rehabilitated. I also don’t think he is a user, I only found out yesterday what happened,” he said.
2. Apologize to the police for the accusation of being a thief
Saipul Jamil thanked the police for disclosing the existing case. He also apologized to the police for thinking he was a thief during the arrest process.
“We always have to be careful about people around us, maybe if this incident hadn’t happened, we wouldn’t have known that my assistant was consuming drugs. So there are many lessons, which turns out that we shouldn’t easily trust people on both sides, “You have to always be on your toes,” he said.
