2nd Runner-up of Miss Ao Dai Vietnam 2022 Contest graduated from Foreign Trade University with a degree of Merit

Phan Ngoc Khanh – Former student of K59, High Quality Foreign Economic Relations Program, 2nd Runner-up of Miss Ao Dai Vietnam 2022 Contest, just received her Excellent Graduation Certificate from Foreign Trade University (FTU) last weekend, as well as being honored as an Outstanding Student at the ceremony.

Once an excellent student of Luong The Vinh High School, Phan Ngoc Khanh easily entered the Foreign Trade University, majoring in high-quality foreign economics, and is considered one of the strong candidates for the crown of Miss Ao Dai Vietnam 2022.

Before participating in the Ao Dai beauty pageant, also in 2022, Phan Ngoc Khanh was a face that attracted the attention of many people when participating in Foreign Trade Charm – a beauty contest for Foreign Trade University students, organized every 2 years by the University’s Student Association. The following is a quick interview between the reporter and Phan Ngoc Khanh.

Hello Ngoc Khanh, how do you feel when you officially receive your diploma?

I feel very happy because I have completed 4 years of bachelor’s degree as expected. And I am really touched to know that my efforts in studying and working in the past time have been recognized by the school through the title of Outstanding Student of the 59th course. I am also a bit reluctant to have officially completed my bachelor’s degree at Foreign Trade, but I hope to have the opportunity to stay here longer in the future.

Phan Ngoc Khanh officially received his diploma.

What is a memorable memory during Khanh’s time studying at FTU?

I have many memories with FTU, but the one I remember most is definitely the final round of Foreign Trade Charm 2022. The day of the final round was my birthday, and also the night before my final exam in International Marketing. I still remember when everyone was preparing backstage, I was still sitting watching my friends practice, doing my makeup, and studying for the exam at 7am the next morning. Even when the final round ended at 2am, I decided to go home and drink 2 cups of coffee to recharge my energy for the final review.

How to balance between studying and extracurricular activities?

For me, planning and having good teammates is the way to balance between grades and extracurricular activities. At the beginning of my second year of university, I had quite a bit of trouble getting used to studying, leading clubs, and participating in student competitions, because at that time I always had urgent and unexpected deadlines. However, after a while, I figured out how to arrange a reasonable schedule for myself. I always prioritized my time for studying, and left 2 weeks before exams to review most effectively. After that, I arranged the long-term plans of the clubs and projects I participated in, and always made sure I had at least 6 hours of rest each day. In addition, whether in class or in clubs and projects, I always had great teammates to share the work with.

How did Ngoc Khanh overcome the special “peer pressure” of Foreign Trade students?

I think I have not yet overcome this “specialty” of FTU, because I see that each student here has their own outstanding points. However, I always turn pressure into motivation to strive. Instead of wondering why I have not received a scholarship or award, I will find out how you have achieved those achievements to build a suitable path for myself. I realize that the success of FTU students comes from passion and perseverance. Therefore, I always try to promote these two factors to achieve success in student projects, volunteering, and competitions that I participate in.

What are Ngoc Khanh’s future career or study plans after graduation?

Currently, I have been accepted to 7 master’s degrees at universities in the UK that are in the top 1% of the world. In the near future, I will continue to study a master’s degree in Business Analysis and Strategy Management at the University of Manchester. After studying and researching at Foreign Trade University, I am very interested in the ESG field, and hope that one day soon, I can do ESG-related work in Vietnam.
