For the ninth time, the cardiological diagnosis brigade carried out by the Cardioinfantil Foundation, through its social program ‘Give a Life’, and the Pink Ladies of Valledupar, was carried out.
In the two days that the day was extended, a total of 203 minors who arrived at the Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital from different areas of the Cesar department and the region were treated, for whom vital signs were taken, pediatric evaluations and specialized tests such as: electrocardiogram or echocardiogram for those who require them.
“We are happy again to be in Valledupar with our brigade for the care and detection of children with congenital heart disease. It is a very interesting day with a multidisciplinary team headed by the Pink Ladies and with a group of doctors and logistical staff very committed and very motivated with the health of the children of this territory,” explained Manuel Huertas, pediatric cardiologist at the Cardioinfantil Foundation.
The objective of the brigade is to detect if there are cardiac disorders that require surgery, catheterization or medical management, and depending on the results, offer children with limited economic resources the option of being transferred and operated, completely free of charge, to the headquarters of the Cardioinfantil Foundation. in Bogota.
On the other hand, the Scientific Deputy Manager, Farides Fajardo Mancera added: “We are grateful for the management by the Pink Ladies for once again choosing our institution to hold such a great event, who on behalf of the Intervening Agent Duver Vargas Rojas, placed “We made a team of human, logistical and assistance talent available for this brigade to be carried out.”
The visit included professionals such as: doctors, pediatric doctors, pediatric cardiologist, nursing assistants, social workers and head nurses.
Finally, the President of the Pink Ladies of Valledupar, Marlene Tous de Dan, expressed: “These free brigades have all been successful, the previous ones with about 220 children diagnosed, some established in priorities that require surgical intervention or highly complex treatments, the foundation calls them and these patients will travel to the capital and receive medical care, food and lodging for free and this is the great gift that the Cardioinfantil Foundation gives to Valledupar, since they are low-income children.”
