2024 Copa America Individual Awards List, Messi’s Name Not There

AMERICA – The 2024 Copa America has ended today, Monday (15/7/2024). Argentina emerged as champions after silencing Colombia in the final.

In the final match held at Hard Rock Stadium, Monday (15/7/2024) morning WIB, Argentina defeated Colombia with a score of 1-0 until extra time. Argentina’s only goal was scored by Lautaro Martinez in the 112th minute.

This is a consecutive title for Argentina after also successfully winning the 2021 Copa America in the previous edition. Lionel Messi et al managed to defend the title and win the 16th title in the Copa America event.

Not only the team’s victory, Argentina also won several titles in individual awards. However, this time there is no name of Messi who in the 2021 edition successfully won two individual award titles.

The 2024 Copa America top scorer title belongs to Lautaro Martinez. The Inter Milan player managed to score five goals, with one of them being created in the final match that determined Argentina’s victory.

Martinez beats Venezuelan player Salomon Randon who is in second place in the top scorers list. Randon only managed to collect three goals, which is two goals less than Martinez.

Meanwhile, the title of the best goalkeeper of the 2024 Copa America still belongs to Emiliano Martinez. Just like the previous edition, Martinez again brought home the title of the best goalkeeper from the Copa America event.

Colombia itself managed to bring home another individual title which provided consolation after becoming the runner-up of the 2024 Copa America. James Rodriguez was chosen as the best player of the 2024 Copa America.
