200,000 Peruvian students will learn financial education

Asbanc program will train 5,000 teachers and students from public and private schools in entrepreneurship and responsible economy.

More than 200,000 Peruvian students will develop key financial skills thanks to the “Financial Education in your School” program, promoted by the Association of Banks of Peru (Asbanc).

The initiative, which already trains 5,000 teachers in Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cusco and Metropolitan Limaseeks to form an economically empowered generation.

The project teaches young people from public and private schools to make intelligent financial decisions, manage budgets and develop sustainable ventures.

“We want students to apply this knowledge in their daily lives and professional future,” explained a spokesperson for Asbanc during the launch of the third edition of the annual contest.

In alliance with the APOYO Institute and regional education directorates, the program incorporates innovative methodologies such as STEAM to solve real economic problems.

This year rural schools from Lambayeque and Amazonas will be added through the “Girls with Opportunities” project of CARE Peru.

The contest 2025 will reward the best student ideas with technological and financial resources to implement them in their communities.

Interested teachers can register projects and access specialized workshops until the June 30.

“This training will transform young people’s relationship with money,” highlighted the manager of Asbanc Financial Education.

The winners of previous editions have already created school cooperatives and community savings systems that benefit thousands of families.
