Devin Haney

Devin Haney decided to convert to Islam around the beginning of April 2021. The former undisputed lightweight champion converted 1 month before defeating Jorge Linares in a duel to defend his WBC lightweight belt title on May 25 2021.

Devin Haney confirmed his status as the undisputed lightweight king after defeating George Kambosos Jr on June 5 2022. Four months later, this 25 year old boxer defeated Kambosos Jr again in a rematch on October 16 2022.

Devin Haney has an undefeated boxing record of 31-0, 15 KOs. Devin Haney then moved up to super lightweight class and became WBC world champion by defeating Regis Prograis on December 9, 2023.

Gervonta Davis

The boxer called Tank is very feared in the lightweight class. In his career, Gervonta Davis recorded a record of 29-0. Tank is also nicknamed the knockout king boxer with a record of 26-0.

Undefeated boxer Gervonta Davis converted to Islam late last year. He has a Muslim name, Abdul Wahid. Video circulating during the holidays shows the southpaw boxer from Baltimore embracing Islam by reciting the shahada held at a mosque outside his hometown.

This news was confirmed by The Brooklyn Banner, who spoke with Imam Hassan Abdi of Philadelphia, who led the recitation of the shahada. As part of the ritual, Davis also adopted the Muslim name, Abdul Wahid, which means “servant of the one.”
