There are 2 reasons Jake Paul fight in the boxing ring Los Angeles 2028 Olympics after a professional ring fight. Jake Paul announced a surprise plan to compete in the 2028 Olympics in LA after being fed up with the United States boxing team’s gold medal drought at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The first reason, Jake Paul was frustrated with the failure of the United States boxing team at the Paris Olympics, which only managed to win a bronze. He said on his podcast: “I’m going to the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles. I’m sick and tired of waiting and waiting for more gold for Team USA.”

Of the eight US boxers, only Omari Jones won a bronze medal in the 71kg class. Omari Jones took bronze with Andre Ward, who was the last man to win gold for the US 20 years ago in Athens in 2004.

“I’m not retiring. I’m just adding a few more years to my boxing career because of it. Los Angeles, United States, hurts,” said Jake Paul.

Paul never had an amateur fight and turned professional in 2020 after one exhibition fight. Since then, he has won ten fights with just one loss, to Tommy Fury, 25, in February 2023.

Paul returned with a sixth-round stoppage in July after dropping former UFC star Mike Perry three times. Perry, 32, had filled the bout on a month’s notice after Mike Tyson, 58, was forced out for health reasons.

Paul will fight Tyson on November 15 in a controversial bout highlighted by their 30-year age gap. The American also confirmed he will challenge for the cruiserweight world title within the next two years. And he said: “Being world champion is first and foremost, but second is the gold medal.”
