Two people were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Kumarkhali, Kushtia. The incident took place on Sunday (April 28) around 11:00 am in Chapra Bridge area of Sandiara-Lahinipara road of the upazila.
They are, Md. Sabuj (21) and Biplab Hossain (42). Sabuj Kushtia is the son of Abdul Malek of Milpara area of Sadar Upazila. Biplab is the son of deceased Moktar Hossain of Garkadi Uttarpara area of the same upazila.
Locals said that Sabuj was going towards Sandiara from Lahinipara on a motorcycle. And Biplab was going in the opposite direction with another motorcycle. On the way, two motorcycles lost control and collided head-on at Chapra Bridge area. Two motorcycles were twisted in it. At that time, they fell on the road and were seriously injured. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Kushtia General Hospital, where the doctor declared Biplab dead. Sabuj died around 3 pm while being taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Chapra Union Chairman Enamul Haque Manju said that two motorcycles were killed in a head-on collision. One died at the hospital and the other on the way.
