18 arrested with dredgers throughout sand extraction in Meghna –

The police arrested 18 other folks together with two dredgers and two bulkheads throughout the extraction of sand within the Meghna river at Matlab in Chandpur.

On Wednesday (October 9), participants of Coast Guard Chandpur Station and Mohanpur Naval Police outpost performed a joint operation and arrested them.

They’re, Md. Yusuf Sikder (46), Md. Tauhidul Islam (27), Rashed Fakir (25), Hridoy Bepari (24), Md. Farooq Ghazi (48), Md. Rony (24), Md. Bahadur (35), Md. Murad Hossain (25), Rakib (22), Obaidur (37), Sohel Howlader (28), Md. Helal (25), Md. Hridoy Mandal (28), Md. Sujan Mia (29), Md. Zafar Mir (41), Md. Delwar (33), Md. Shamim Mridha (26) and Md. Kabir Ahmed (42).

Mohanpur police outpost sub-inspector (SI) Md. the plaintiff within the case. Hedayet Ullah stated that miscreants had been extracting sand from the Meghna river with dredgers with out permission. In response to such information, the topic was once knowledgeable to the Coast Guard. Later Coast Guard Mohanpur in fact performed a joint operation. On this incident, a case has been filed underneath the Balu Mahal and Soil Control Act at Matlab North Police Station.

Police inspector accountable for Mohanpur naval police outpost. Kamruzzaman stated that the accused are within the custody of Mohanpur outpost. All their data can be despatched to Chandpur courtroom after verification.
