17 people were killed in road accidents in different districts of the country throughout the day. Four people were injured. Meanwhile, seven people, including three from the same family, were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh. These accidents happen from time to time. Mymensingh
Seven people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh. Among them are three members of the same family. The accident took place at Alalpur area of Sadar Upazila around 11:00 am.
Harunur Rashid, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sadar Police Station, who was present at the scene, said that when a bus of Adil Paribahan from Dhaka to Sherpur reached Alalpur area, it collided head-on with a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. Seven people including the driver were killed on the spot. So far, the names and identities of six people killed have been found.
Bogra
Three people, including the driver and assistant of two trucks, were killed in a head-on collision in Bogra’s Shajahanpur. The accident took place in Birgram area of Natore-Bogra highway of the upazila in the morning.
According to the police, a truck carrying sand was going from Bogra to Natore. On reaching Birgram, there was a head-on collision with a coal-carrying truck coming from the opposite direction towards Kurigram. Two truck drivers and one helper were killed on the spot.

Moulvibazar
Three people were killed in a head-on collision between two CNG-powered auto-rickshaws in Rajnagar, Moulvibazar. Four people were injured. The accident took place at 4 pm in the Moulvibazar-Sylhet regional highway in the area of Maina shop.
According to police and local sources, two unnumbered autorickshaws, one from Dashtila in Rajnagar to Tarapasha area and the other from College Point to Dashtila village. On the way, a face-to-face clash took place when they reached the funeral shop area of the Moulvibazar-Sylhet Regional Highway near the Upazila Fire Service Station. One died on the spot and two died on the way to the hospital.
Jamalpur
Two school students died after a motorcycle collided with a tree in Sadar Upazila of Jamalpur. The incident took place in Shahbazpur area of Shahbazpur union of the upazila in the afternoon.
Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Mohabbat Kabir confirmed the matter. The names of the victims were not immediately known.

Faridpur
A motorcyclist named Rabiul Islam (24) was killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle at Nagarkanda in Faridpur. The bus caught fire in the collision.
The accident took place around 8:30 in the morning in Mashaujan area of Talma intersection of Nagarkanda upazila. On receiving information, Nagarkanda Fire Service reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
Chuadanga
An old man named Mofiz Mia (62) was killed after being hit by a picnic bus at Damurhuda in Chuadanga. The accident took place at Talsari intersection on Darshana-Mujibnagar road around 10 am. The deceased is the son of Taiyab Ali, deceased, of Chandrabas village of Natudah union of Mafiz Mia upazila.
Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Kabir confirmed the accident.
