10 people, including children, were shot and injured in a gun attack at a water park in the United States. A man opened fire near Detroit on Saturday (June 15) evening. The gunman is still at large. Police believe he is hiding in a house near the scene. British news agency Reuters reported this news.
Police also reported recovering a gun from the scene.
At a news conference, Oakland County police Michael Bouchard said a man got out of a car in front of the Brookland Plaza Splash Pad Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan around 5 p.m. local time. He then fired about 30 rounds from a 9mm semi-automatic Glock gun. The gun was loaded several times.
Police say it is not immediately clear if anyone has died in the incident.
Rochester Hills is located about 30 miles (50 km) north of Detroit. Earlier, in 2021, four students were killed in a shooting at Oxford High School in Oakland County. A 15-year-old student, Ethan Crumbley, was injured, along with 6 other students and a teacher.
