A Ukrainian man dismembered a Russian woman, the crime was recorded in a town in Peru.
The foreigner was arrested last Thursday accused of murder and dismember a woman Russian at a personal development center in Yurimaguas.
The Ukrainian Ivan Kuzmín38, and Liudmila Lazarenko, 44, traveled through the Loreto region before returning to the Dos Mundos center.
The staff, concerned by the woman’s screams, tried to enter the room but were unable to do so. They decided to call the police.
“They apparently had an argument and, as a result, the man attacked the victim with several objects, which caused death,” said prosecutor Llesenia del Mar.
The Ukrainian was found with a knife in his hand next to Lazarenko’s lifeless body. The woman was dismembered and had serious damage to her brain and other organs.
According to previous reports, the accused beat the woman to death and then dismembered her.
Ukrainian wanted to perform the ayahuasca ritual
Authorities found drugs at the crime scene, which reinforces the theory that the accused was under the influence of illicit substances. The subject became violent and, when the agents arrived, he was tied up, but he tried to bite them.
Both had come to the center to undergo ancestral treatments and consume ayahuasca, but the owner denied that drugs were sold there.
“The people were not staying here, they were here as friends, they were old patients, they were just passing through,” said Pepe Ordóñez.
Peruvian press reports that the Ukrainian and Liudmila met a year ago and had a deep connection due to their shared interest in ayahuasca.
Lazarenko’s husband said his wife lived with him and their two young daughters in Thailand and had traveled to the Latin American country several times to learn more about ancient medicines.
On this last trip, she met the Ukrainian citizen, who told her took his life in a brutal way.
