Many memories arose from the honoring of Egyptian artist Adel Imam at the “Joy Award” ceremony in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after receiving the “Leader of Arab Art” award, awarded for the first and last time at the festival.
Among the memories that some have recalled with the leader is the one mentioned by Egyptian journalist Bassem Youssef, who published a video on his Instagram account in which he recounted what happened between him and Adel Imam about 12 years ago.
Bassem Youssef confirmed that he was hosting the program “The Program” at the time and with the launch of the second season on the Egyptian network CBC, the network decided to throw a party for this occasion.
A large number of stars were present at the ceremony, led by leader Adel Imam and the late Samir Ghanem, which was a great event for Bassem Youssef, especially because he saw the stars whose work he had grown up and loved.
At that time, Bassem Youssef sat next to Adel Imam and chatted with him and got his phone number, things Bassem Youssef did not believe.
But the strangest thing is what happened next, when Bassem Youssef filmed the second episode of the program, handed it over to the channel to show, and then went to Abu Dhabi, especially since he was used to not watching himself on television.
At that moment the famous crisis occurred and the network announced the suspension of Bassem Youssef’s program, who was not aware of all these issues, but was surprised by a large number of calls, especially that of Adel Imam.
This surprised Bassem Youssef, and was even more so when he answered the leader’s call, only to find the latter asking him about the program and yelling at him for asking the reasons for not broadcasting the episode.
Bassem Youssef did not have a specific answer to respond to Adel Imam, and told him that he had handed over the episode to the television network and did not know the reason for not broadcasting it, but the answer did not please Adel Imam, who expressed his anger towards Bassem Youssef, to which the latter commented by saying: “Adel Imam made me angry”.
Then, Bassem Youssef received a phone call from his brother asking him the reasons why he did not broadcast the episode, but he responded by saying: “Don’t worry, because Adel Imam is still harassing me.” talk about the call of Adel Imam.
