Sultans of the Net lose 3-0 to Italy in Paris Olympic Games semi-finals

Our National Women’s Volleyball Team, competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, faced Italy, one of the strongest teams in the organization, in the semi-finals, where they competed for the first time.

WE TURNED BACK FROM THE DOOR OF THE FINALE

Italy won the match played at the South Paris Arena in Paris 3-0, as they did in the group stages, and advanced to the final. The Sultans of the Net, who achieved the success of advancing to the semi-finals for the first time in the Olympics, came back from the door of the final.

ITALY AGAIN, SEMI-FINAL AGAIN

The National Women’s Volleyball Team also faced Italy in the 2023 CEV European Volleyball Championship semi-final match. The crescent-stars, who defeated their opponent 3-2 in a tough match, advanced undefeated to the final and became European champions by passing Serbia. The Sultans of the Net lost 3-0 to their opponent in the semi-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

THE OPPONENT FOR THE BRONZE MEDAL IS BRAZIL

Our National Women’s Volleyball Team will play the third place match against Brazil, who lost to the USA in the other semi-final, on Saturday, August 10 at 18:15. Italy, who defeated the Stars and Crescents, will face the USA in the final for the gold medal on Sunday, August 11 at 14:00.

THE OLYMPIC ADVENTURE OF THE SULTANS OF THE NET

Olympic champion The Sultans of the Net, who want to be the first in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, played 4 matches. Our National Women’s Volleyball Team, which is in Group C, came back from a 2-0 deficit in the first match against the Netherlands and won the match 3-2. The Crescent-Stars, who managed to beat the Dominican Republic 3-1 in their second match in the Olympics, were defeated by Italy 3-0 in their last match in the group. Daniele Santarelli’s students, who guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals, defeated China 3-2 in this round and made it to the semifinals.
