Introduction

In a surprising turn of events on Twitch, a popular streamer of Fortnite made the decision to shave his entire head, including his eyebrows, in exchange for a generous donation of $2,500 from a viewer. However, this donation took an unexpected twist.

The Streamer’s Background

The streamer, known as Lacy, is a 20-year-old content creator who has gained significant popularity on Twitch and YouTube. With 9,000 subscribers on YouTube and nearly 83,000 followers on Twitch, Lacy has become one of the fastest-growing players in the Fortnite community.

The Unfortunate Turn of Events

Things took a turn for the worse on June 18 when Lacy embarked on an unlimited subathon, a marathon-style live streaming event where the streamer receives bits, Twitch’s currency, while playing Fortnite and engaging with viewers. However, on the third day of the subathon, Lacy discovered that one of the main donors had refunded their substantial contribution, despite the streamer fulfilling their request to shave their head.

Lacy’s Reaction and Hair Transformation

Expressing frustration and confusion, Lacy addressed the situation during a stream on June 20. Despite the setback, Lacy remained committed to their viewers and proceeded to dye their remaining hair pink. In an interview with Kotaku, Lacy revealed that the donor had disabled their Twitch account, blocked them on Twitter and Fortnite, and had also refunded donations to other streamers.

“The donor didn’t provide any explanation. I found out from other streamers who received similar donations and experienced refunds. While I love my hair, I made a promise to my viewers and I will always keep my word,” Lacy explained.

A Second Donation

Interestingly, the viewer who rescinded the initial donation later reappeared and sent a mere dollar as a second donation, leaving the motive behind their actions unclear.
