An Empathetic Gesture
After her captivating performance, Raul Gonzalez approached Sara to embrace her and congratulate her on her moving tribute. But more importantly, he wanted to show solidarity with her in the sadness of not having her father in her life.
“I also lost my dad three years ago. I miss him every day of my life with all my heart… The absence grows stronger, especially on days like Father’s Day,” expressed the beloved presenter, visibly moved.
A Heartfelt Farewell
Raul Gonzalez’s father passed away in October 2020. In a heartfelt message on his social media platforms, he bid farewell to his father and dedicated a declaration of love to him.
“My father, my teacher, my hero, my idol, peacefully ascended to heaven. Surrounded by infinite love, he now flies high, free from any pain. We did our best and more… I love you daddy, with all my soul and my heart. Fly calmly, knowing that my mother is and will be well cared for,” read his touching letter.
A Shared Pain and Love
Raul Gonzalez deeply felt the emotions conveyed through Sarita’s interpretation, as it reminded him of his own pain and love for his father. “We must move forward and be brave,” he told her with a lump in his throat. Father’s Day is celebrated in the United States on June 18.
