Member of Parliament of Narayanganj-4 Constituency Shamim Osmam said, I want your help. I’m old, I can’t. Wherever there is injustice, there should be protest. Be it against Shamim Osman or whoever, you have to protest against him. Because this country is yours.
He said these things while appearing as the chief guest at Narayanganj Government Tolaram College’s freshman admission ceremony on Tuesday (June 4) afternoon.
Addressing the students, Shamim Osman said, I don’t see your protest when there is any injustice. Chhatra League boys protested, this is their job. If I do something wrong, why don’t you protest? Your job is to change society. In many countries of the world, the labor society is moving. But Bangladesh is a country where students made the country independent by protesting.
He further said, I think two professions should talk. One, the politician; If he has the courage to tell the truth. If there is no courage to speak the truth, then there is no need to do politics. And journalists should write the truth or present the truth. If these two sectors become corrupt, then the society does not run, the country does not run.
Tolaram College Principal Professor Bimal Chandra Das presided over the occasion, Zilla Parishad Chairman Chandansheel, Zilla Women’s Association Chairman and Shamim Osman’s wife Salma Osman Lipi, Metropolitan Awami League Joint General Secretary Shah Nizam, District Chhatra League former president Ehsanul Haque Nipu and District Lawyers Association were present. Former President Hasan Ferdous Jewel and others.
