News from Angola – Petro de Luanda won this Saturday, at the Pavilhão Multiuso Acácias Rubras, in Benguela, the thirtieth edition of the Supertaça Vladimiro Romero by beating Interclube 93-87 in a match that marks the opening of the men’s basketball season in the country.
The “Tricolores” won the first quarter (21-17) and lost the second quarter (22-23), but went into the break with a three-point lead (43-40).
The “Police” came back strong from the break, “stepped up” and got the better of their opponent (63-69), but the experience of the national champion came from above with Edmir Lucas and Gerson Lukeny in evidence, leading the current holder of the Angola Cup.
With this achievement, the Eixo Viário team wins the Cup that honors Vladimiro Romero, an emblematic figure of national basketball, for the tenth time.
