Magdalena was born in May 2020 in the middle of the Corona period. After three weeks in the intensive care unit at the Kepler University Hospital Linz, Magdalena finally came home to her brother Lukas. Magdalena was diagnosed with several malformations. The diagnosis: complex malformation syndrome with spina bifida (open back).
Since her birth, Magdalena has spent a lot of time in the hospital; she underwent surgery on her spinal cord, her intestines were repositioned, her cleft palate was closed and, most recently, reflux in her kidney was corrected. Magdalena is developing very well and has already developed a very strong will for her age.
In order for Magdalena to be able to grow up and live in her familiar surroundings in Zell am Moos in the future, many therapies, especially physio and rehabilitation stays, are necessary. Magdalena needs to be challenged and supported so that her body can continue to cope well with the challenges of everyday life in the future.
