Mbappé Gives a Glimpse of Pride as Messi Departs PSG
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé are no longer partners. The departure of Messi from PSG marks the end of a relationship that had its struggles and disagreements, but was still highly successful on the field. For instance, Mbappé finished as the top scorer in Ligue 1, while Messi led the table of maximum assisters. However, they fell short of achieving the club’s ultimate goal: the UEFA Champions League.
Recently, during the farewell party for the Argentine National Team captain at Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappé publicly expressed his gratitude to Messi for his contributions on the field. A video also surfaced in which Mbappé showed his admiration for Messi’s seven Ballon d’Or awards. Nevertheless, Mbappé believes that he is more deserving than Messi for the upcoming French Football award.
Following France’s victory over Greece in the Eurocup qualifiers, the former Monaco player was asked about his chances of winning the Golden Ball. To everyone’s surprise, he replied, “It’s hard to talk about individual awards, but I believe I meet the criteria to be in the race. I’ll say yes, I can win it.”
Mbappé is not the Favorite in the Polls
Although the French team captain believes he has a chance of winning his first Golden Ball, the truth is that he is not leading the polls for the new edition of the French Football award. The current frontrunner is none other than Messi, followed closely by Erling Haaland.

Even though Messi’s departure from PSG might have lessened the competition, Mbappé’s unwavering ambition for the Ballon d’Or stands as a testament to his relentless pursuit of greatness.
