Master actor Ahmet Uğurlu was sent off on his last journey

Eşref Saati, Behzat Ç. Master actor Ahmet Uğurlu, who took part in successful productions such as Yol Ayrımı and who was also the older brother of Mustafa Uğurlu, passed away yesterday. A funeral ceremony was held for the actor today.

THE PAINFUL FAMILY ACCEPTS CONDOLENCES

Ahmet Uğurlu’s brother Mustafa Uğurlu, his son Orhan Uğurlu and his ex-wife Necef Uğurlu accepted condolences at the funeral. Director Derviş Zaim, theater actress Yasemin Yalçın, State Theater General Manager Tamer Karadağlı, actors Melih Çardak, Sumru Yavrucuk, Zafer Algöz, Şenay Gürler, Halil Ergün and their family and relatives attended the funeral ceremony. Her ex-husband, Necef Uğurlu, said, “For a marriage of 40 years, ours was a terrible passion, a very bad passion. The conservatory and his colleagues were his crowning glory. He was very careful and would not hurt even if he was hurt. The whole world embraced him, but he did not give up on Turkey.”

KARADAĞLI: ANOTHER OUR MASTER HAS GONE

State Theaters General Director Tamer Karadağlı said, “We are very sorry, Ahmet Uğurlu was one of the very important actors of Turkish theater and cinema. He was a very special person. Another master of ours is gone, we are very sorry.” Halal prayers were received after the funeral prayer following the Friday prayer. Uğurlu’s body was buried in Anadoluhisarı Cemetery accompanied by prayers.

WHO IS AHMET UĞURLU?

Ahmet Uğurlu, known as a Turkish theater and cinema actor, was born on August 2, 1952 in Konya. After studying in Bursa from primary school to high school, he entered the Painting Department of Gazi University. He started acting by chance and started playing secondary roles at Bursa State Theatre. Later, he studied at Ankara Hacettepe State Conservatory and took part in many plays in the state theater for thirteen years. Ahmet Uğurlu, who had his first cinema experience with the movie Mine directed by Atıf Yılmaz, won many local and foreign awards. He is the older brother of Mustafa Uğurlu, who is also an actor.
