The band Los Bunkers announced the recording of their MTV Unplugged, which will be directed by filmmaker Pablo Larraín.
This special acoustic concert will be recorded in co-production with Chilevisión and will crown his return after the closing of his “Ven Aquí” tour, which attracted 1,200,000 people and culminated with two historic performances at the National Stadium in Santiago.
The event will be directed by the renowned filmmaker Pablo Larrainnominated for the Oscars for the film “No” and for the Golden Globes for “El Club” and “Neruda”, in addition to the musical production of the keyboardist, singer, guitarist and member of the Mexican band Café Tacvba, Emmanuel “Meme” Del Real.
“We believe that the band has received this invitation at an unbeatable moment in its career. With several very recent milestones in attendance and an album that has been released less than a year. At the same time, after a tour of massive shows, it allows the band to change state and return to a smaller, absolutely intimate work format with a warmth that it hopes to pass on to the audience. In a certain way, for Los Bunkers it means returning to their roots when they shaped their songs with acoustic instruments before going electric. Preparing this show will be an adventure that we sense will be fun and enriching,” the band said.
This will be the first MTV Unplugged which will be made and filmed in Chile. The date is set for October 9 at CHV’s studios in Machasa.
The concept of MTV Unplugged It consists of offering artists a space to recreate their music acoustically in an intimate environment close to the audience. The first MTV Unplugged was recorded in 1989 with the British group “Squeeze”, while the first acoustic concert produced in Latin America was that of “Los Fabulosos Cadillacs” in 1994. Important artists such as Paul McCartney, Nirvana, The Cure, Café Tacvba, Soda Stereo, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton have performed in this format.
