Pape Gueye Set to Join Inter Miami
Pape Gueye, who has been on loan at Real Zaragoza from Oostende this season, will be signing for the same team that recently acquired Leo Messi. Inter Miami is obligated to exercise the option to purchase the Senegalese midfielder, as announced by the Belgian club on its website.
Last summer, thanks to the involvement of multiple parties, including Inter Miami whose owner is Jorge Mas, the president of the Mao club, the striker ended up at La Romareda. In the event of promotion to the First Division, Zaragoza was obliged to buy him for three million euros. However, since promotion was not achieved, the obligation now falls on Miami.
From Star Signing to Great Disappointment
Zaragoza no longer wishes to be associated with Pape Gueye, who has been a major disappointment among their signings. From the beginning, he displayed a very low level of performance and failed to improve, becoming the subject of ridicule among the fans. He finished the season without scoring a single goal.
Although Gueye will be joining the same team as Messi, it is unlikely that they will play together, as Inter Miami intends to offload the midfielder this summer, as he was not part of their plans either. Perhaps he will find his next destination in Belgium, where he left a positive impression, or in France.
