Rudolph Garboyan (51 kg), Ruben Garboyan (54 kg), Ruslan Aslikyan (57 kg), Erik Israelyan (60 kg), Artur Shahbazyan (63.5 kg), Ararat Harutyunyan (67 kg) will participate in the Youth Championship. The RA government and the sports department met Israelyan by giving him the opportunity to perform again under the Armenian flag. It should be noted that the European Championship was supposed to be held in Baku.
However, due to the repeated aggression and forced displacement of the people of Nagorno Karabakh in September, the International Boxing Federation deprived Azerbaijan of the opportunity to organize the European Championship. “At the request of the Armenian Boxing Federation, the European Under-22 Boxing Championship to be held in Baku has been moved to Montenegro. Taking into account the aggression and war unleashed by Azerbaijan, I have asked the European International Boxing Federation (EUBC) to change the competition venue, taking into account the situation and the safety of Armenian athletes. The EUBC, having studied the situation, has decided today that the European Under-22 Championship scheduled for November 10-21 will be held in Montenegro instead of Baku,” wrote Hovhannes Hovsepyan, the president of the Armenian Boxing Federation.
