The director of Civil Protection, Luis Amaya, assured this Thursday morning that all the institutions that make up the National Civil Protection System will be deployed in each of the masses and processions that take place these days in El Salvador, within the framework of Holy Week.
Amaya emphasized that with this deployment they seek to guarantee the safety of the parishioners who attend each religious event, also maintaining attention in each tourist area in the country so that the vacation period occurs without situations to regret.
«We are already reinforcing the deployment of the operational tactical team in each of the religious events that are taking place throughout the country. It is important to emphasize to the population that the Government of President Nayib Bukele is committed to the safety of the people seen from every sense, and right now we are ensuring that we also have a presence at religious events,” he commented.
For his part, Eduardo Godoy, departmental governor of San Salvador, highlighted that more than 100,000 public servants will be made available to contribute to the work of Civil Protection in the capital during the Holy Week celebrations.
«We join the efforts of the execution of the Summer 2024 Plan, maintaining a presence with more than 100,000 public servants from the different institutions of the National Civil Protection System, with the purpose of guaranteeing that national and foreign vacationers who are willing to look for places of great attendance. The number one objective is to guarantee the well-being of the population,” he said.
Finally, Amaya recounted the emergencies attended to within the framework of the Summer 2024 Plan up to this point, pointing out that 35 water rescues have been carried out, of which 15 were simple and 20 were deep. In addition, 212 traffic accidents have been recorded, in which 135 injured people have been treated.
