From the end of November 2023, the national airline Cubana de Aviación has announced the opening to the online purchase of airline tickets or tickets. The site already allows you to book tickets for flights within the island, such as Havana-Santiago de Cuba or Havana-Holguín, and also for international destinations. It can be done by bank transfer or cash at the Cubana offices.
According to officials, the site has been revamped with a more modern, functional and faster design, which makes it easier to find the links you want. Users can check flight availability for their chosen dates and make reservations online.
How to buy online with Cubana after the new prices
Now with the new prices, doubts continue to arise, although one of its employees clarified it in this way from the Cubana de Aviación Telegram channel. Through the official website (we have provided the link above), online bookings are made in CUP, USD, CAD and EUR. “Availability for JANUARY/24. There is no APK yet, just a website,” he added.
He then added that “the current availability is no longer for January. You have to search the site and if they don’t appear for the desired date it means that either there is no flight for that day or that there are no more tickets available. Payments in CUP via Transfermovil”.
An example of the new airline ticket prices is the one from Havana to Guantánamo, which increases from 1,140 to 4,300 Cuban pesos, being one of the longest journeys. Another case is that from Havana to Holguín, which goes from 935 to more than 4 thousand pesos, an expense that for many was already high.
Flights from Havana to Gerona, on the Isle of Youth, are also increasing, exceeding one thousand pesos. We remind you that a pension in Cuba in many cases does not exceed 1,500 pesos per month.
