Theft Incident: Man Robbed of $1,000
In a distressing incident reported this morning in Dorado, a citizen fell victim to an assault at kilometer 12.1 of the PR-693 highway.
According to sources, at approximately 10:10 am on Thursday, the victim was standing outside his Jeep Liberty vehicle when a red Mitsubishi car approached him. Several gunmen emerged from the car, attempting to carry out a carjacking.
Unable to start the car without the keys, the assailants resorted to violence and struck the victim on the head. Subsequently, they forcefully took an envelope that contained an estimated $1,000.
Upon receipt of the report, the case was transferred to the Robbery Division of the Vega Baja Criminal Investigation Corps for further investigation.
