New Batch of Vaccines Arrives

In an announcement made on June 12, Carlos Luna Vázquez, the Welfare delegate, revealed that Tlaxcala would receive a new batch of vaccines after a month-long shortage of this vital biological resource.

Prioritizing the Youth Population

The Ministry of Well-being has received a batch of 4,000 Abdala vaccines with the aim of providing priority attention to the recently turned adults and reinforcing the public vaccination efforts. These vaccines are available on a voluntary basis to citizens over 18 years of age.

Vaccination Centers and Schedule

The vaccines are being administered at the Urban Health Centers of Tlaxcala, Huamantla, and Apizaco from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, Clinic 8 of the IMSS in Tlaxcala, Apizaco at 19, and Zacatelco at 7 are also offering the vaccination service. The vaccination is free of charge and available to all residents regardless of their municipality of origin.

Requirements for Vaccination

These vaccines are intended for individuals over 18 years of age who wish to receive their first dose or those interested in acquiring a booster shot six months after their last vaccination. To receive the vaccine, individuals must bring their official INE identification and, if available, proof of their previous vaccination.

Continued Vigilance and Care

While the Covid-19 pandemic has been declared over, the Ministry of Well-being emphasizes the importance of not letting our guard down and continuing with preventive measures. As they state, “Although the pandemic is over, the disease is still ongoing.”

Focus on Vulnerable Groups

The Ministry of Well-being aims to ensure that health centers have an adequate supply of vaccines to cater to population groups with comorbidities, immunosuppression, and older adults. The latter group has shown the most interest in keeping their vaccination schedules up to date.

Invitation to Young Adults

The Ministry of Well-being extends an invitation to all young adults who have recently turned 18 to come forward and receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. They also remind those interested in receiving a booster shot to wait for a six-month interval after their last vaccination.
