Jakarta –
Acer released a series of new products at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, United States. One of them is a gaming monitor called Predator Z57.
As the name suggests, this gaming monitor measures 57 inches, has a 120Hz refresh rate, is curved, and has a resolution of 7680 x 2160 pixels. The panel uses MiniLED lighting technology, which promises to produce better contrast than LCD monitors in general, with a brightness level of up to 1000 nits.
The resolution is very high, i.e. 7,680 x 2,160 pixels or the same as two 4K panels (3,840 x 2,160 pixels). That’s because this 32:9 ratio monitor can be used as two separate monitors using the two available HDMI 2.1 ports.
The Z57 features AMD FreeSync Premium and full port connectivity. Namely USD-C PD 90W, two HDMI 2.1 and one DisplayPort 1.3. Acer has also equipped the Z57 with a video keyboard and mouse (KVM) for use with multiple devices at the same time.
The dimming zone is 2,304 and supports HDR. There are two ways of using two inputs, namely picture-in-picture or side-by-side split screen, as cited by The Verge’s detikINET, Monday (8/1/2024).
Color coverage is 98% DCI-P3 and the monitor also supports VESA mounting for bracket mounting. Oh yes, this monitor is also equipped with a stand that can be adjusted to tilt, swivel or lift and has two 10W speakers. Price? 2,500 USD and will be available in the US and Europe from the second quarter of 2024.
Acer has also released a smaller monitor, namely the Predator There’s also the Predator X34 V3 for $900, a 34-inch, 180Hz QHD ultrawide monitor that uses a MiniLED panel.
Finally, Acer is trying to branch out into 3D gaming again with the Predator SpatialLabs View 27, a line of stereoscopic 3D monitors that don’t require special glasses.
