10 Banks Bankrupt in 4 Months, This Time Happened in Kudus

JAKARTA – The bank went bankrupt again increased to 10 banks in four months. The latest news is that the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revoked the business license of PT BPRS Saka Dana Mulia in Kudus.

Revocation of business permits refers to the Decree of Members of the OJK Board of Commissioners Number KEP-36/D.03/2024 dated 19 April 2024 concerning Revocation of PT BPRS Saka Dana Mulia’s Business Permit, revoking PT BPRS Saka Dana Mulia’s business permit.

“The revocation of PT BPRS Saka Dana Mulia’s business license is part of the supervisory action carried out by the OJK to continue to maintain and strengthen the banking industry and protect consumers,” wrote the OJK in an official statement, Friday (19/4/2024).

OJK on April 10 2023 has assigned PT BPRS Saka Dana Mulia to Bank Under Restructuring supervision status considering that its Health Level (TKS) has a rating of Not Good.

Furthermore, on January 12 2024, the OJK placed PT BPRS Saka Dana Mulia in Bank Supervision Status in Resolution with the consideration that the OJK had given time in accordance with the provisions to the Directors and Board of Commissioners of the BPRS including Shareholders to carry out bank restructuring efforts, especially the steps needed to overcome Capital and Liquidity problems are getting worse as regulated in OJK Regulation Number 28 of 2023 dated 29 December 2023 concerning Determination of Status and Follow-up Supervision of People’s Economic Banks and Sharia People’s Economic Banks.

The Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of the BPRS, including the Shareholders of the BPRS, were unable to carry out efforts to revitalize the BPRS, so the OJK handed over the handling to the Deposit Insurance Agency to make a decision to save or not save the BPRS.
